President Barack Obama said the terror attacks in Paris were an "attack on the civilized world." He said "the skies have been darkened" by the horrific attacks.
Obama pledged U.S. solidarity with France in the effort to hunt down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
Obama is speaking in a meeting with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the Group of 20 economic summit featuring leading industrial and emerging-market nations. Erdogan says there will be a "strong message" on fighting terrorism coming out of the summit.
Obama also said the U.S. stands with Turkey and Europe in the effort to reduce the flow of migrants. He said the U.S. and Turkey will redouble efforts to resolve Syria's civil war.
